With this project, I aimed to parallel the game of life, incorporating all its choices and unexpected twists and turns. Due to time constraints, it was challenging to create a complete game with precisely the outcomes I envisioned. However, adding hidden links, videos, and Easter eggs enhanced the experience. I designed five possible endings, representing my five gifts. Most were typical outcomes in the game of life, except for ending up in Bikini Bottom with SpongeBob. I included this as a special ending that could only be achieved through very specific choices. Initially, I created a map resembling a spider web, which became my blueprint for the website game. I quickly realized it was too complex for the time frame and adjusted my plan. This led to some abrupt path endings and the addition of funny links, videos, or restarts to the game. Given more time, I would have created a more in-depth experience with more choices and paths. The most challenging aspect was ensuring the links directed to the correct pages and managing duplicate pages with duplicated links. This task was often tedious and frustrating, especially when things didn't work as intended. Despite the challenges, I enjoyed creating the gifts and crafting a narrative for the project. Completing this project allowed me to learn more about Wix and its website capabilities. If I were to do this project again, I would opt for a smaller game or website.
One project I found particularly enjoyable this semester was The Closet, where Alex's murder mystery unfolds. It was a creative concept, and I would love to work on something similar in the future.
